Using an Adform click tracker with the Readpeak tracking script requires a slight adjustment to ensure smooth tracking. For the Readpeak script to work properly, the click ID needs to travel from the ad’s click target URL all the way to the landing page. By default, however, some tracking setups can interrupt this process. The good news is that there’s a simple workaround!
To ensure the click ID remains in the URL, you can add the landing page as a parameter to the click tracker. This keeps the click ID intact as it redirects to the landing page.
Here’s how to set it up:
1. Start with your Adform click tracker URL: https://track.adform.net/C/?bn=1234567
3. Add GDPR macros if not in place: ;gdpr=${gdpr};gdpr_consent=${gdpr_consent_50}
2. Then, add ;urlappend= to the end of your click tracker URL.
Your adjusted URL will look like this: https://track.adform.net/C/?bn=1234567;gdpr=${gdpr};gdpr_consent=${gdpr_consent_50};urlappend=
Adding ;urlappend=
in this way keeps the click ID in place, allowing Readpeak to track conversions as intended.
Testing Your URL Once you’ve set up the click tracker, always test it by clicking the test link below each ad variation to confirm that everything works smoothly and the click ID transfers to the landing page.
